Introduction
Bikes
Our purpose-built and designed electric bikes offer all the benefits of traditional cycling - the freedom, the convenience, the practicality - but with an important difference: none of the effort. That's because of the all-new 'intelligent torque censor' built into the pedal mechanism. Recent EU directives have banned those bikes that allow you to be towed around without any effort. That's now classed as a moped-type vehicle. The solution is our new 'torque censor', recently described by a client as 'normal cycling with 90% of the effort taken out' cycling has become an aerobic exercise.
The running cost of an EV is incredibly low: just over 1 penny per mile. With a range of around 20-30 miles per charge and a regulated top speed of 15mph and you don't even need a license to ride it. And parking is free.
Scooters
We now offer a new, stylish and ultra-economical electric scooter perfect for commuting or for general runarounds. The scooters run on rechargeable, sealed lead acid gel batteries and a powerful motor capable of up to 35mph. You may never need to rely on petrol again! The scooters are classified, by the DVLA, as '50cc' petrol for insurance purposes and, because they are electric, are exempt from road tax.
All the scooters are fully approved for road use by the EC and require registration and insurance. Riders whose car license was issued before February 2001 can ride without any form of additional test. Otherwise they follow a 50cc moped route, with one-session CBT course.
Bikes
The urban transport solution that doesn't cost the earth - literally!
Electrip leads the way in electric bicycle performance; our new range has excited even the most skeptical riders. We have a bike for every shape and size and a bike for most purposes. From small-wheeled collapsibles to the large sit-up-and-beg style of our Dutch-shape.
EV's are cheap to run, costing just over 1.p per mile, and they are fun to ride. With a range of around 20-30 miles between charges, you don't even need a license to ride it. What's more, parking is free!
EV's are truly the low-cost, practical and environmentally-friendly way to travel in the modern world.
Lithium Batteries and Alloy Frames
Lithium Iron Polymer batteries, with the promise of extended range, extended life and easier portability, are here. Tests at the University of Bathindicate that the lithium batteries will totally transform the performance of EV's. Weighing in at just 2kg - a fraction of the weight of the current lead-acid battery.
No modifications are needed to existing bikes for upgrading to lithium. The only thing that you will need is a new charger as the old ones are not compatible.
Combined with new lightweight alloy frames, the total weight of a new electrip bike with a lithium battery will fall to around 20kg.

Business Opportunity
Executive summary
A proposal for a franchised retail business, whose model is established on an existing sales site, in the centre of Camden Town, Central London, offering a range of newly developed Electric Vehicles (EV's). This retail 'unit' will be a self-contained business, including all the ingredients to commence immediate trading and with the added attraction of being the first in a specialist field to offer a complete range of 2 wheeled electric vehicles. This self-contained 'module' or 'pod' has been designed to be 'parachuted' onto any car-parking space, or the equivalent area.
Background
The present climate of escalating energy costs, the degradation of our planet, through pollution and the various energy wars, has created an enormous interest in EV's. Politicians are at last taking the problem seriously and within the general public there exists a consensus that 'we need to do something about our energy requirements' and we believe that EV's offer the solution.
The plan is to turn the whole, or part of any site into a high quality retail outlet, stocking a variety of electric bicycles and scooters, including a range of relevant accessories to be sold to the public. The site can also be used to demonstrate these exciting new vehicles to local business, currently using company vehicles.
The 'module' or 'pod' will be portable and will be self-contained. We will also instruct our franchisees on how to offer the various Government-sponsored purchase schemes to local businesses, local Government and councils. (Leaflets available)
